A flush beats a straight in standard high-hand poker. A straight follows five ranks in a row. A flush uses five cards of the same suit, without needing a number run.
If you are opening Poker in Yono VIP, this is a handy comparison to know before reading a hand. The examples use standard high-hand rankings; check the variant shown in your chosen room.

What does a straight look like?
Take 6♥ 7♣ 8♦ 9♠ 10♥. The ranks run from six to ten. The suits are mixed, so this is an ordinary straight.
Read the rank on each card in order. For this first check, concentrate on the run: six, seven, eight, nine, ten. You can then look at the suits to see whether the hand is also a straight flush.
What does a flush look like?
Now compare A♥ J♥ 8♥ 5♥ 2♥. All five cards are hearts, but they do not make a consecutive run. This is a flush.
The useful check is visual: count five cards of one suit. They can be spread across different ranks. A neat-looking number pattern is not needed for this hand category.
Compare the two hands
The heart flush above ranks ahead of the mixed-suit straight. Starting the straight with higher cards does not move it above the flush category in standard high-hand poker.
Think “category first.” Identify the type of hand before comparing individual card values. The Poker beginner guide has the wider ranking order and common table terms.
And a straight flush?
Five consecutive cards in one suit, such as 5♠ 6♠ 7♠ 8♠ 9♠, form a straight flush. It combines the two patterns and ranks above an ordinary flush in the standard high-hand order.
Put the three examples next to each other as a short practice exercise: one run in mixed suits, one suit without a run, then a run in one suit. Naming the pattern first makes the terms less confusing.
Which rules apply in Yono VIP?
Yono VIP lists Poker, but the room's variant matters. Read its rules before carrying a standard ranking into another format. For example, some short-deck formats change parts of the usual high-hand order.
The PokerStars hand-ranking reference is the general rules source for this comparison. The examples here explain hand names; they do not predict the result of a future deal.
